Like everybody else, I've had a busy fall and haven't taken time to post lately. Here are a few pictures from the past month.
Sorting our cattle to come home from the forest.
The cows were happy to be home.
We vaccinated the calves when we unloaded them. This year we didn't weigh them since we didn't have access to good scales. When we shipped the steers October 10, they averaged 626#. We kept all of the heifers.
The heifers... can't wait to turn them out!
They're good eaters... like their mothers
The dogs ready to start today's heifer training session. My Casey dog is still doing well, but is pretty disgusted with this set of heifers... they aren't training as fast as "usual"... maybe because there are more of them (or maybe because she is getting a little older  ).
.
I've also been moving into my new "cottage".
Hunting season opened monday, now if I can find a way to get rid of the other 150 head of elk that live here, I'd be set  . Fall fence fixing has been a nightmare  .
