I'm in Alamosa Coloprado this A'M waiting for my crew to get going-we got a LATE start tuesday-the bronc stud decided to crash a gate and visit a seductive paint mare from S.S.A.P's-I think I got them separated before the wonder of procreation. Then the bucking bulls got wind of our cycling beef cows but we headed that off at the pass-one of ty's buddies came by and picked them up for the practice pen. We got into P'wood quite late a night and had a good visit and then headed for Hanta Yo's had an impromtu tour of some extra country when I took a wrong turn lol. kathy spoiled us with a big breakfast then we headed to Billings-toured Cabellas quick I got a good deal on a GPS in the bargain cave then we went to the Custer battlefield-my fourth time there but first for Shauna and the kids-Custer was a dumbass is all I can say lol. We missed King ropes by five minutes in Sheridan but had a good visit with Schiffer;s in Buffalo-finally met Tony's 95 year old mother-what a grand old lady-learned how to tie a Wyoming drag knot and headed out in the A'M. We pushed it a bit yesterday-took the toll road around Denver but the gates were closed-excellent. Took the kids to the PRCA Hall of Fame which is an aeesome place to visit-found some rodeo posters from up in my country in the 30's. At the Prongua Stampede in 1934 you were paid ten bucks to ride and scratch one(exact quote) not bad wages. I didn't want to go over the Wolf Creek Pass in the dark so we camped here got the last room. Talk later.

Heck, we were in Denver yesterday, too. The misses thought it would be a good idea if I got a professional massage......probably the last damn time I'm gonna pay somebody to torture me lol.

Wolf Creek Pass ain't bad in the dark, as long as it's not snowing hard! Good Luck!

After the Red Mountain Pass last year the wolf Mountain pass was a piece of cake lol.
Wolf Creek Pass is a piece of cake----now. Before the road was widened out & rebuilt it was different. The new road is tougher in Jan - April than in July. That ol' hill can snow.

Hope you have a great trip, Northern.

Say, I was thinkin' of you Canadians over the weekend as I was at Cheyenne Frontier Days. We went for the George Strait concert; let me just say that it was excellent and ol' George is still a great show with no pomp and circumstance, just good music done right. But I was secretly planning on being there in time for the chuckwagon races after the rodeo. I hadn't been to CFD for several years so I was disappointed to find out that they no longer run the chucks there.

Must have been an issue with liability insurance or something? That was my first guess. Geez, liability kills every good time known to man. It looked to me like the real liability was all of the $5.00 a can beer that the concert-goers were swilling. Didn't look like any of them were too concerned about liability as I'm sure there weren't near enough designated drivers in the crowd.

Anyway, didnt mean to hijack your post. Safe travels to you and your crew.

I'd be driving around it lol. was sure glad that toll road took us around Denver traffic and the toll gates were closed.

NR - They have closed the toll gates on the E-470 tollway for keeps. They take a picture of the front and rear license plate on cars as they go by and send a bill in the mail. Let us know if they are willing to go after a Canadian

EEEKKKK I was planning on using that hmmm wonder what shoers company would say if they got a bill............hmmmm
Not sure how Mormons would respond LOL might better find another way to get to Salt Lake City............
GAWD I HATE DENVER

I'd like to see the camera that can take a legible picture of that many cars going by at 90 lol. I guess we'll see. Not much doing today for us just trap and small bore practice rounds. I guess the bareback was wild and wooly-pickup men grabbing broncs by their back legs-getting their horse run over and wrapped up in their coils. I wish the Rempel boys were here I feel alot better about this whole deal.

A good reason to pack some mud with you on the next trip (or just keep your vehicle filthy like mine) not often my license plate is legible even when it's parked. :) :)

I am pretty sure that they can't trace very many of the vehicles that go by without the "fastpass" sticker. They give a discount to the ones with the fastpass. The theory is that whatever they lose in uncollected toll is made up by not having to pay the toll takers. We will know in a couple of months whether to not it works. They just started this July 1st.

It's worth the 10-12 bucks not having to drive through Denver-my cheapie GPS is working pretty darn good so far. were just plotting how werre going to head home-hopefully were still here for the short go. Emily and Sara are pumped the company rep for 'Addicted' jeans gave them a bunch of free stuff they're supposed to parade around in the Lammle's stores up in Canada show them off. as a Dad I think all my girls jeans could fit a little more 'baggy' lol. Ty cashed in all his freebies so everybody should be set for school clothes and Dad bought a new shirt. The PRCA gave all the State Champions free permits but they won't give them to Canadian Prov. Champs that kind of suicked-I guess it wasn't figured in the budget-John Davis is working on it though-John and Kelly Wardle put in hours for the kids here-Kelly sets up the bareback gloves and riggings for whoever wants it.

NR....is Kelly not the nicest guy on the face of the earth? he lives in the same town as us, we went for supper with him and Barb last week, you shoulds see the spurs and jewelery he makes out of old rasps, beautiful stuff!!
