That would drive me nuts!!! :x The public's wildlife seem to be getting good care and EXPENSIVE hay at your expense. Can you recover some of your costs? Do these things dine with your bred cows too?

There's alot of those suckers  do they run the cows of feed??That's a real pain. After further investigation, looks like they just buddy up to the cattle.Cute pic by the way.

I knew it....a closet liberal..... :P

We could do some trading,I'll send you some moose, and when I'm ready I'll have you send a couple of those babies here......

Little Miss Idaho.....CUTE!!!!

Just remember, "they were here first"  People use that phrase when it is at your inconvience and expense. I remember a few years ago I was driving between Montrose and Gunnison in Colorado when I met another truck. On the CB, he asked where all the elk were? He said he hadn't seen any, and had been looking for them, too. I must have seen 100 head in three places in the next 20 miles that he had just passed. It looks like Idaho has as big a problem with them as Western Colorado. I don't think urban America has a clue as to the numbers of these things, nor do they care.

A couple of those would look pretty good in my freezer! :D
I won't complain about my bale bandits Clara and Lil Joe anymore. They don't make near the mess as what you have there. I haven't seen Clara and Lil Joe for a few days now, but I know they've been here :)

What most if not all folks in town have no clue about is how much agriculture in general does for all wildlife. From pheasants to elk, from turkeys to moose tons of wild critters live, eat, drink and sleep on private ground. And even though every mouthful of feed is annoying, i'd bet ya most people like having some stuff around. I know we do. Thanks for the pictures and feeding the "cows"! I'll be up this fall to help ya thin the herd!

WY Rancher..if we called the Elk Foundation, they will come and feed them elsewhere, my husband figures since he hunts them every fall he can feed a few, this is a point he and I strongly disagree on!! they aren't with the cows this year but we have had them in the past

Denny..I agree with you!
Mrs.G....keep your moose we have those also! how's about 3 ornery girls for a week or two instead?!
Leanin'H, come on up, the guys go every fall

as for Miss Idaho, she's pretty much a card, keeps us on our toes, told us all to "calm down" at the supper table tonight   I can't wait until she 16!

We have one stackyard left to moose-proof, will be done this summer. In the past if the moose got to greedy a call to a few meat hungry friends on the Rez would even the odds a little. Could you use that option down there?

Cute photo of the little gal. :D

Your "Calm down" got me chuckling.

Our middle child a girl didn't talk because she didn't have to. Her older sister did it for her. One night after being in town at the fair for the day she got wound up. She was standing in the bay window of the trailer shouting out "Ladies and gemmemen" we would laugh and she would say "Settle dooown, settle dooown."

Going to a movie was a pretty rare occasion when I was a kid. My folks took me and my two younger sisters to a "picture show" (that's what they were called in those days  ) which was Swiss Family Robinson. It was quite a riveting drama with the family being ship-wrecked on an island for many months. When the big ship passed nearby and it looked like no one from the ship would spot the ship-wrecked islanders, my little sister took matters into her own hands. She stood up on her theater seat (which was quite a trick in itself) and hollered, "Here us are! Here us are!" The other movie goers got quite a chuckle out of watching her in action. :-)

Here is Miss Idaho this morning! I was outside flooding the skating rink, gone for maybe 20 minutes max, couldn't help but laugh..."I wuv makeup Mom, I look beautiful?"

Last time I had Hanna and her 2 girl cousins spend the night,Hanna needed to be toileted...easily over an hour sitting in bathroom with her. The girls said they'd sit with her while I got popcorn made for the movie we planned on watching......YA well they got into my make-up and did Hannas face......she looked a lot like Miss Idaho :lol2:
