Had a inch and a half of rain last night, it was very welcome, greened things up around that's for sure. :cowboy:
A house up by town must have got struck by lightening during the storm. Must have smoldered during the night and this morning flame broke out and leveled the house. A single man lived there but wasn't home so no injuries.

Good news, except for the fire!! Glad there were no injuries.
I hope and pray you continue to get moisture. We get rain in varying amounts every day.
Our country looks amazing, but folks are getting itchy to start haying. Mr FH, he will wait for a
weather pattern change. He's rather liking this cool, wet weather.

Our weather pattern must have changed here cause it rained most of the night. Got a bunch of cows and calves in the catch behind the house we were going to brand today but they can wait. It has been a great turn around for the pastures and crops, not sure it will help the hay crop much as most of the grass it 6 inches tall and headed out.

Great, just great! Mr FH says rain is the best reason to postpone a branding!!
Even places not in drought, the dryland hay grass is like you said, 6" and heading out.
Dryland alfalfa has been frozen back so many times, it doesn't look good. Cut it now, I guess
and hope for a second cutting.

If it was easy, everyone would be doing it.
