The mare in the "wax" pictures foaled Wednesday. Here are some pics of her and the foal. It's a colt. He's awefully friendly, and pretty cute. I'd say he'll be a bay like she is.

Cheers---

What a sweetie! I love this time of year :) Course we are done as the January Birthdate really puts the push on for early foaling. Nothing like having your babies born at the crappiest time of the year weather wise :)

He sure is a cutie! Congrats, nice looking colt!
I love bays. Only bays and sorrels around here.
I'll be expecting the first one in a couple of weeks (due April 30), but I think she may go later... I'm hoping, because of still having snow on the ground. :x

Thanks everyone!

Used to be only bays and sorrels/chesnuts here too. Then we bred one of our very best mares to Frenchmans Guy, a palamino. We kept her colt for our stallion, and now we get a few palaminos in the mix. That and we bought a roan mare who hasn't thrown the same color twice since we got her. She's had a red roan, a palamino with spots (called by some, breed spots,) and a buckskin last year. We'll see what she hatches this go. I'd say she'll be third to foal. I'm guessing number two will come in the next couple of days.

Judith, I'm glad your "jackpot" baby came good, and is alive and well.

Jigger Boss...I hope foaling goes well for you too.

Cheers---

TTB, keep us posted as to your colt to filly ratio this spring. I'm really curious!

Nice colt. Be interested in the mare's breeding-nice long body & deep hip.
Did ya mention the colt's sire earlier & I missed?
Thanks

Sorry I'm a little slow in replying. I've been pretty busy and away.

Here is how the pedigree shakes out on both foals:

--------------------Sun Frost (Doc's Jack Frost)
----------------Frenchmans Guy
--------------------Frenchmans Lady (Laughing Boy)

---------BHR Super Frost

--------------------Wild Deck (Top Deck)
---------------BHR Super Deck AAA
--------------------Dak's Pana Bar AAA (Cyn Pana Bar)

--Foals

-------------------Easy Jet (Jet Deck)
---------------Dr. Kirk
-------------------Lea Lero (Bolero)

---------BHR Classy Kirk (aka Little Winnie)

-------------------Shaka Tail Feather (Azure Te)
---------------BHR Shaka Bar AA
-------------------Dak's Pana Bar AAA (Cyn Pana Bar)

Hopefully the pedigrees come out like they're suposed to.

Here's a picture of a full sister to this colt, as a baby. I hope foal #1 turns out half as good as his older sis did!

Thanks everyone for the nice complements. We had number two this week. Another colt. Our third mare foaled yesterday and the baby we so big that we had to pull it, and lost it. Thankfully we didn't lose the mare.

With that breeding I'm guessing that you'd have those barrel racers standing inline for them colts.
Also, that is a mighty impressive filly; hard to beat that color and shape. If the colt is half of what that filly is, he'll be a dandy!
Finally, sorry about losing the last foal.
Thanks for the info-
