Gonna Become a Canuck!

Well, after the results of last night's election, I am certainly considering moving out of the United States. But, even prior to this knowledge of our politcal meltdown, I have gotten an oportunity to head to Alberta next summer for an internship. Hopefully I will have the time to visit some of my virtual Canadian friends during my tenure in the Great White North. Wished I had more information for you all on when, where, and how, but in the mean time, I'd like some info on traveling out of country, clothes to pack, and whether or not the dollar is accepted up there. (Although, it's not gonna be worth anything anyway.)

If your staying for more than a day you will need clothes for all four seasons. What part of the province are you heading?

Carharts to sleeveless, eh? I am actually not sure what part of the province I'd be in. All I have done thus far is call in on the operation to see if I'd be elligible for the program next year. I will likely try to figure that out further over Thanksgiving break.

The parts of Canada I haven't seen have always been my first choice---BUT I have a couple of neighbors who spent years ranching in Australia and a couple old retired cop friends that told me about great white shark fishing and Australias nude beachs that have intriqued me much lately...

A nude in Canada comes complete with Carharts, Toque, and muck boots :wink: :lol:

Well I'm super excited for sure! I've even been practicing up on my French a little. :wink: But heaven forbid I take a liking to Canada. Lord knows I'd end up like BMR posing frozen coyotes in the snow!!

Hopefully I'll run into you in your northern travels. Per is right for the most part, although we sold some heifers to Quebec a couple of years ago and had to speak French to load the truck as the driver spoke almost no English.

I hope you have as good a time coming north as I have going south.
