Shortgrass

We live in a short grass country-gramma being our mainstay. But I've never seen it as short on grass as we were in June 06. No matter how much country we had, all of us were out of feed because of a prolonged drought. You all savvy that. Although the grass was not dead, it was usless and unproductive. In July the rains started. All thru July, August, into September we had timely rain in abundance. I have never seen our country as good as it is now(the worst and the best all in the same year). What a beautiful difference the water made in our rangeland. Now, I do a lot of reading on a wide variety of topics. Some of it is of little c;onsequence, but some of it is worthwhile. There is an old leatherbound book that I come back to time and again. It has become my favorite. I suspect several of you share that same appreciation of the same book. In it there is a story of Jesus talking to a woman at a well. As He speaks with her, He compares Himself to water. How accurate I have found that to be. Just as the water made a good and beautiful change in the range, He has made a good and beautiful change in my life. He has given purpose to an aimless life. He made a fruitless life fruitful. He has given life, and life abundantly, to an otherwise barren existence. I'll praise him for that--now you folks have a good Sunday and a good rest of the week.
