Isn't music nice?I enjoy music. Music is a gift God gave everyone--to a select few He gave the ability to make it. No, I'm not one of the select few! Jimmy Dean is, and he had an easy listening sort of a song out at one time. It was titled "These Hands"--perhaps some of you will be familiar with it. The lyrics build up the attributes of hard work. Lines say things like these hands won the heart of my loved one, theses hands made a house a home, or these hands have worked to the bone. The line that I have a real problem with, and it just ruins the song for me, is "God above hear my plea, when its time to judge me, take a look at these hard working hands." Now my hands have a few callouses on them, and hard work is a great character trait, but the way I read my old leatherbound book, its the works of these hands that nailed His to the cross. The thought of being judged for that scares me to death!. My prayer would be "God above hear my plea, when its time to judge me, take a look at the scars in Your hands." I'd like Him to remember His work, not mine. He died the death that my works have earned; He loves me that much and that act is the only thing in which I place any hope. You all have yourself a good Sunday mornin, and a good rest of the week.
