Greetings from the shadow of America's favorite mountain. Our place is located about 35 miles east and 10 miles south of Colorado Springs. I grew up in the area and have sure seen a lot of changes in that town. I have seen several good ranches go under concrete and pavement. I really don't care for all the "progress"-- I think I am beginning to relate to how the red man must have felt when progress pushed him aside. Thousands of people have visited the area, fell in love with the scenery, and moved here. They are constantly changing a road, tearing down a building, building another, and remodeling another. Things change on a monthly basis. Above the city, ol' Pikes Peak stands firm and stable. The mountain remains unchanging since the Comanche, Ute, and Arapaho fought over who "owned" this land. I enjoy the geographical features of the area such as "the Bottomless Pit, Pilots Knob, Windy Point, Christ in the Garden, and many others. I can easily picture them in my mind, because they are the same every time I see them. How comforting and refreshing that is. Society and styles are ever-changing, but the principles and promises of God's word never change because the Author is the same yesterday, today and forever. The Proverbs tell us not to move the ancient landmarks. What used to be sin is still sin; what used to be good and right still is. God is not a fad that will go away. I am so glad that God is so dependable and stable. Well, you folks have your selves a good Sunday Mornin and a good rest of the week.
