On my place, I can usually keep up with the work by myself (so why am I always behind!). Of coarse there are always jobs like the branding and gathering that requires help. I cannot afford to hire people to work here, so like most of us ranchers, I find myself depending on neighbors to be willing to lend a helping hand. Isn't the best thing about the ranchland, though, the willingness of neighbors to be there to help in time of need? Whether its pulling a calf in the middle of the night, a branding, a funeral dinner or just any need, there are neighbors ready to pitch in. There is another source of help. Isaiah 41:10 & 13 tell us to "Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes I will help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, "Fear not, I will help you." Some people may think they don't need His help, but here is one ol' cowboy that can't get by without it. Thank God for his help! Mom's recovery is slow, and painful. We have found assisted living provisions that we all like if she progresses to that point. As the song says, "One day at a time, Sweet Jesus," one day at a time……… Thanks for the prayer support and have yourself a good Sunday Mornin', and a good rest of the week.

Thank- You Shortgrass you have many of us looking forward to "A Good Sunday Morning".

A friend loaned me a CD by Eli Barsi. She has a great song on her album Shades of the West called Every Cowboy Knows.

I don't know how or where people find the lyrics to post but they sure would fit this forum.

I haven't met Eli but was at a threshing bee and borrowed a real nice antique pitch fork from a old fellow that warned me not to let it fall into the seperator as his daughter Eli wanted it when he was done with it.

Today was a beautiful spring day. The temperature was in the high sixties, and not a breath of breeze blew all day. This makes for a delightful change from the usual wind found here in the Sandhills, but sometimes this lack of wind becomes "too much of a good thing."

I just stepped outside to check the weather, and am happy to know that a breeze is now blowing.. Our windmills depend on the wind to pump water. One bunch of cattle was out of water late in the day, so I locked them away from the tank so they wouldn't be chousing each other trying to get a non-existant drink. God is even helping to pump water, and I thank Him for that. Now I need to jump into a vehicle and drive down to let the cattle again have access to the filling tank.

Thanks, Shortgrass, for reminding us that God is always available to help us through our times of need.

You will enjoy the CD. Bryn is a great guy. Met him when I was doing a little poetry a few years ago. Funniest thing happened i was in a book store in Regina flipping thru this book on Saskatchewan. I came to apart about the out laws which our area was famous for and the book had a picture of Bryn and Don Wadell if front of some building in Maple Creek.
Just proves that the outlaws came from some where else . Don was at Olds when i was going.
