Good Sunday Mornin'

Good Sunday Mornin' to ya. Last Friday I had a heifer calving that had a leg back. I spinal blocked her then got the leg straight and pulled a nice bull calf. After the heifer got up, she wasn't that interested in her baby. I put a little salt on the calf, and she licked it a few times then she started pacing the pen. :mad: I figured I was going to be in for a battle to get the calf sucking, as his head was a little swollen. I left them alone for about an hour while I did something else. Well the calf was up, and the heifer lying at the opposite corner. I put a little cake out to keep her occupied, and pointed the calf toward the bag. Well, wonder be! :shock: The calf grabbed a hold and went to work, and the heifer looked around and licked him! God can make a calf suck so easy, and it is such a battle for me. I'm reminded of the verse that asks "Is anything too hard for the Lord?" We could even drop the word "too" and say is "anything hard for the Lord?" It is good for me to be reminded every now and again that even this situation that I am currently in is well under control. :lol: Isn't our God so very capable? Have yourself a good Sunday mornin', and a good rest of the week too.

Shortgrass, I know the feeling of the burden lifted when that calf and momma figure out how it works!!!! It's a real cause to celebrate! :wink:

Today, we celebrate the much greater burden of our sins has been lifted once and for all by our Savior. He is risen! Happy Easter everyone!

A chilly +17 as I type this. Gotta run down and get the church heat turned up for 8AM this morning! :shock:

Edit: Back again. Be careful driving this morning! The Easter bunny and Bambi both narrowly missed their demise when crossing the road in front of me! Some dense fog in low lying areas here this morning.
 
Thanks Shortgrass and Soapweed for your messages this morning. I needed to have that reminder this morning. As I look out, our ground is white with snow (again!) and the temps hang at 28 degrees. Not a pleasant thing but why should I get all bent out of shape about the weather when I can rejoice that the Son of God has conquered death and now I can look forward to life eternal in his presence! REJOICE!

John, is was a brisk and frosty 10 degrees here this morning. We have a couple Easter calves who look healthy and have full bellies, so we are off to a good start this morning!

We live around renewal as we earn our living from cattle and the land. We see brand new calves buckin and kickin! We watch the grass start greenin up and the buds poppin out! We watch winter retreat and spring bring life! New fawns, baby birds, fluffy chicks and wobbly colts! It all symbolizes the greatest of all's gift to us! When ya lose wonderful people it sure is tough, but this amazing morning helps put things into perspective. Thanks Lord! And thanks to all ya out there who share this vocation! How priviledged we are to be who we are! Yippee-ki-yaaaaaaaaaaaa :cboy:
