I know all you folks can relate to what I feel today. I AM READY FOR GRASS! The cows need their hay, but don't eat it well. They are as anxious as I am. I wish it would give us a warm rain, and then grow enough grass to quit feeding--in the morning would be just fine. I think we all struggle with patience. Isaiah 28:10 says that precept must be built upon precept, one line upon another, here a little, there a little. The note in my old leatherbound book says that there are no shortcuts to the Christian walk. We must be patient; we must grow. We can arrive, but not overnight. Hang in there, my Christian friends, trust Him as He is a capable, loving God, and have yourselves a good Sunday Mornin', and a great rest of the week too.
 
Thanks for the message.Very relevant this spring. We are dry but very cool to cold. Everything is slow to start grass and trees.
Lets hope those that need it get rain and those that have been hit with these storms have not had large livestock losses.

These gals are still coming for hay. I line the hay out so I can get a good count on them once a day at least. But their interest in the hay is short lived. They don't clean the hay up very well and by afternoon they are scattered all over the pasture again chasing grass.

My rain guage showed 1.80" when the storm was done here. Neighbors have reported almost twice that so my rain guage might be defective! :shock:

I feel for those folks dealing with 4' of snow and no power in the NW part of SD. I hope the livestock loss wasn't too bad. Sounds like it will be a while before they get the juice back on with 1700+ electric poles down.
 
I am soo happy for those who got moisture. I hope the storm wasn't too expensive for those north of you. Here our springs are either too dry or too cold. This one is too dry. We are turning green, but not growing. As it was raining up north, we had wind. My guage had 71 mph gust on Fri, and 56 mph sustained winds. That used what moisture we had. He will send it in due time, I know, but I'm kinda like Peach Blossom; I think, Lord it's due now!! :) :) :)
 
Shortgrass......You have no idea how important that thot is to me right now...

This winter has not been the best..Seemingly more than a roadbump to my future and plans. Enough to reconsider lots even though I know I am working towards who I was made to be...


This year is different...Different feeds and options. Coupled with the very real lack of time. I did not get some things done. Last Mays calvs weren't weaned soon enough for the cows to build back up condition and I went through some wrecks with my Spring Calvers. It is disheartening..


The thing is do I quit or do I learn and grow? This morning I was questioning Even though my whole life has pointed to what I am doing. Though I was made to be who I am..... I am not there and it will take some time...

Maybe the lesson is to be less proud, be more ready to admit I make mistakes..... Be more ready to ask for guidance and answers...Be mor ready to hear the quiet voice that tells me I need to....God uses our stumbles as much as our victories to shine for him..
