We are still in the grips of a drought. I am culling cows that are not really done, but I have to move some in order to keep some. Mostly I am looking at young stuff that has the most potential for a future. Today Jan and I spent 12 hours in an all day workshop with teenagers. The workshop was titled "Who is your good looking date?" The aim was to help young people realize that who you date is a very important issue. It was a blast! These young people have great potential for a good future. They are keepers!!! The attention level was good all day, the questions were perceptive, and the comments at the close of the day concerning what qualities they would expect in a date as well as what they would expect of themselves on a date indicated an eager receptiveness to some good old fashioned, biblically based, common sense. 28 teens, and 26 commitment cards seem to indicate that young people are eager for instruction for somewhere besides the TV. God is still at work, and will be long after I am gone!!! Praise His name!!! Have yourselves a good Sunday mornin` and a good rest of the week too.

Cool Hand (alias Shortgrass) and his good looking cheerleader date. Kid seemed to enjoy this skit more than Cool Hand and Cheerleader!

Good for you, Mr. and Mrs. Shortgrass, for spending a worthwhile day with young folks to help them become better people. By risking your own self-respect  you have helped them to gain theirs. God has put it on your hearts to deliver His message, and you did not fail Him. You are to be commended.

Thanks for the picture. :-)

Ditto to what CRM and Soapweed said! Shortgrass, I can't believe you and the Mrs look so "Cool" and refreshed.... especially after spending 12 hours with a bunch of teenagers!!!!

John, that picture is BEFORE we spent the next 11 1/2 hours with the teens. We were bushed after, but well worth it. We got feedback today from youth and parents that made it all worthwhile.

Shortgrass, I shoulda knew that was the case. Your cap was only askew atop your head because you wore it in the modern "fashionable" sense.

After dealing with that many kids the cap musta been long gone from scratchin' your head all day!  :P

Seriously, congrats to both of you for giving your time and effort for the kids. Now take that cheerleader gal on a date to celebrate a job well done!

Shortgrass, you are a treasure to society. The world is sending a message crafted by Satan, but the message is so unsatisfying that with a good presentation you can reach a lot of people. God bless you for all you do.
