Good Sunday Mornin' everyone. My Dad used to say that "it is an ill wind that blows no good." The just of that is that there is some good in all things. In our experience with cancer, I have re-prioritized certain things. One place that it has profited me is that I realized when you have a beautiful thing, you really should enjoy it. Our life was like everyone else's. We hurried off to bed so we could get up early, grab a quick bite, run out and do the chores, so that we could hurry off to some appointment, so that we would be "on time". If we had time, we would grab a bite at noon, scramble off somewhere else, and run races with the rats. We didn't want to lose the place did we? :???: Why do we work? Why is it important to me to have this ranch? Maybe I could lose something much more valuable than this place. :? It really wasn't that critical. This place offers a way of life. Shouldn't I enjoy it? We really could take some time off, and not go bankrupt!!! :D God is much more interested in who we are than in what we have. All this to say we are off to Branson, Mo. to have some fun. We will spend some time with my sis and bro-in-law, and together we will do Branson, Silver Dollar City, Eureka Springs Passion Play, and then spend some time with cousins at their cabin in the Ozarks. I suppose we'll probably come back – not sure when or if, but probably!! Well have yourselves a Good Sunday Mornin' and a great 2 or 3 weeks.

Yep- Have a good trip Shortgrass- its really sad that it takes a serious illness or some catastrophe in life for most to realize what you've realized...Just so much more to life than material things- or "keeping up with the Joneses"....

It is so easy to forget we need to stop and enjoy. Maybe it is easier as we age because we're moving slower.

Have a super trip catching up with family!

Have a great trip Mr & Mrs Shortgrass! Enjoy the events and time spent visiting relatives you likely don't see very often.

The ranch work will keep and still be there when you get home. I speak from experience!

Oh Shortgrass,I'm so happy you and Jan are taking that trip. ENJOY the heck out of yourselves....will miss you..... :)

Hugs to Jan!!!
