The construction of and Isrealite's home in Egypt may have resembled this. Red paint is on the doorposts and lyntel to show what it may have looked like with the blood of the "passover" lamb sprinkled on it. The last plague of the Egyptians before Pharoh allowed the Isrealites to leave was the death plague. The first born of people and animals would die on a given night. If a lamb had been killed it would suffice as a substitute for the first born in that household. The blood was then spread on the doorpost and lyntel as shown here, and the death angel would pass over that home. This is what occurred. The Isrealite people were then allowed to leave Egypt, as Pharoh had had all of God's wrath he could stand. If we wish to avoid God's wrath, there has been a Lamb slain as our substitute. If The blood of Jesus Christ has been applied to the doorpost of our heart, we can have life, and life abundtant. With out accepting the Lamb of God, there is only His wrath to face. Those are the facts. Have yourself a good Sunday mornin' and a great rest of the week.
