It may have been a well similar to this replica at the New Holy Land in Euricka Springs, Arkansas that Abraham's servant found Rebecca, and she drew enough water for him and his camels. Below is a trough hew from limestone that may have been like what she filled for all the thirsty camels. Quite a job, huh?

Hundreds of years later Jesus rested at a well while his desciples went to town for food. Here He was, King of kings, Lord of lords, who could command the wind, and waters, and they would obey, resting. He was approached by a woman who is of doubtful character. She had been married 5 times, and was shacked up with some fella who was not her husband. Who would want to be seen talking with her? Jesus does! He explains very patiently who He is, and she runs back to town with a very believable story that causes many others to come see Him. Jesus is elated that this slut (pardon me) would take time for Him. Think about that.........don't we serve a remarkable God? We often are too busy to give Him our time, but not one of us has ever approached Him to find Him too busy for us. That God would value our companionship--now that is something, is it not. Have yourselves a good Sunday Mornin' and a great rest of the week too.

Thanks, I will have a good Sunday morning. It is through cnance encounters like this that God shows how much he is in our every day lives.

Watering camels, now that sounds like an endless job! As much as a cow and calf can suck up on a hot day, I'd hate to be bucketing water up out of an open well to water a bunch of thirsty camels!

Without earthly water we in the ranching business know we don't have much. That goes for whether your ranch runs camels or cows! And without the spiritual water Jesus gives us in the form of grace we ain't got much to go on either.

Thanks for the message and the pics, Shortgrass. Please keep them coming!
