The house is full of grandkids and kids. Life is good :D :D :D. I enjoy Ned Jr.'s pictures. The water on the west side of the mountain range in his pictures is part of the Rio Grande River system. Water on Ned's side starts out as a small trickle under a snow bank. It then becomes a creek like Music Creek, Colony Creek Creek, or Horn Creek. They form Grape Creek and flow on until it is part of the Arkansas River, which becomes part of the Mississippi River system. That small trickle of water high in the Sangre de Cristos is part of something much bigger than it appears at first glance. As I think of Mary, the mother of our Lord. I wonder if she didn't feel awfully small, insignificant, tired and discouraged by the time she and Joseph had been forced to travel 75 miles across the mountains and valleys only to discover there was not a place for them. She had to deliver her very special child in a barn. Where was her family, and midwife? I'll bet this wasn't at all what she had anticipated. "Where are you God?" she may well have been wondering. Then after delivery, when she lay down to get some much needed rest, a bunch of shepherds busted in the barn all excited. They told their experience of an angel appearing, and how scared they had been, and how they would find the babe in a stable. I'll bet it was great encouragement to Mary. She could relate as she remembered how frightened she had been when the angel had appeared to her. I wonder if her spine tingled as she realized this was God's plan all along! Mary was reminded that this was not about her comfort or herself at all. She was part of something much bigger. This was about God. Her discomfort and inconvience suddenly didn't matter so much. She was part of God reaching out to mankind to save them from their sin. I'll bet these are the things that Mary "pondered in her heart." I wonder if she may not have been thinking "Wow! God used me for something pretty special." Now, are we not a part of that same plan? This life really is not about our comfort or convenience or us at all; it is about Him and His plan to provide salvation to mankind. As we face a new year, let us try to look beyond self and see the big picture. We really are part of something pretty special. Have yourself a good Sunday mornin', and a great rest of the year, too.

Thanks for the word Shortgrass. I for one feel pretty insignificant at times but when you realize that your part of a really big wonderful plan it sure uplifts the spirit. :D :D

Giving Him the glory always comes through in your messages, Shortgrass.
As for me, I'm an old dog learning something new--and I wish I had learned it much earlier--but better late than never.

I've found a church that preaches the Word of God and I always
come away renewed. Always. What a great message we get every Sunday. I asked the Pastor one day how his message always hit home for me and he said, "God does it. I'm just the instrument."
