Well, we are in Wisconsin, makin' the most of our time. We have played with grandkids non stop, while going to freedom celebration at Northland Bible College (3 hrs away, so we did an overnighter), celebrated a birthday, baled and stacked hay, gone into the woods where my son-in-law and his brothers are building a hunting cabin and redeeming the time because we know it will be short. Today, we tried to bale, but the hay was tuff, so we'll try tomorrow after church. We all understand where that saying "make hay while the sun shines" comes from. You never say "I'll go bale one of these days" or "If I get around to it, I really should bale that hay one of these days". All too often in our Christian walk, we approach it as if we have all the time in the world, and so we procrastinate. Have you, like I said "one of these days, I'll do thus & so", "I need to send a card to___", or "I really should go see this person or that"? Scripture says that we should "redeem the time", because it is short, also that "to him that knoweth to do good and doeth it not, to him it is sin". This lessson, like so many, is easy for me to type into a paragraph, and so difficult to apply. Three little words help me to improve - "Do it now." Have yourselves a good Sunday mornin' and a fine rest of the week too.

Shortgrass, it sounds like you and Mrs S are having a busy and productive "working vacation"! I know you will "Do it now" and enjoy every moment with those grandkids, because your time with them is limited. And as you pointed out, so is the time for all of us in this life. So we need to keep our priorities straight and take decisive action.

Some neighbors invited me over last evening for potluck supper and fireworks. The moon was beautiful, but a mixed blessing when it came to fireworks. It was light enough to be able to find things, but the fireworks would have been even more brilliant without the moon.

The kids in attendance had a blast, but the dog didn't think so much of the whole fireworks thing.  :D

Thanks, Shortgrass, for the gentle reminder.

Both Peach and I were privileged to attend an all class school reunion this past week-end. It was fun getting to see old friends and to make some new. Just think how great will be the final homecoming when the Good Lord calls His children home. First though, each of us must personally accept the gift of eternal salvation so accommodations will be available when that time comes.
