After a long days driving Ty and I checked into the Holiday Inn in Bozeman-we had a 10 oz New York Strip in the restaurant that was barely edible. No little black bull stuck in out so we can't blame CAB-I pointed it out that it was a bit chewy to the waitress hope she passes it on.

You should of went to The Land of Magic in Logan.

Lots of good places to eat in bozeman and you had to pick that one. :) Seems like I had some problems there once also. So what brings you into montana? What port did you sneak through?
I AI'd some angus heifers to your Lad bull. I could say you could stop and look at them on your back. Maybe stop and help pull a few  But there still 3 weeks away.

Montana State put us up in the Holiday Inn-I just assumed the food would be ok lol. Was getting gaunt so wasn't up fora restaurant search. Ty is checking out some aschools that offered him rodeo scholarships-I'll be down in northern Montana pretty soon-I'll be sure and look you up.

If Ty goes to school there it won't be long and he will be able to tell you all the "finer" establishments....I haven't been around that Bozeman country for 30 years- but back then we always went out to a Gallatin Gateway place to get a good meal.....

Was down in Bozeman a couple of years ago. Too crowded for my tastes. The hotel I stayed at had a restaurant in it, but was so hard to get to I almost got locked into the hallway by 2 keycard doors.
I ate at McDonald's.

Should take a quick trip to Manhatten and check Feddes, Churchill and Stories.
Yeah I know the Hereford breeders down there. :D

I was in Bozeman a couple of years ago and a few buddies and I went carousing downtown at some of the watering holes. Got along fine at the Crystal Bar but checked out a few others and we were on the receiving end of some pretty distasteful comments and negative looks due to our cowboy attire. When a few good-natured cowboy-types can't make their way around in the town of the land-grant U, then I'm starting to get concerned.

Ah well, there's lots of other good little towns in Montana that are darn good.

I'm sure Ty would get along well with the college crowd that there. Lots of good ranch and ag-type kids always get along regardless.

Isn't the Crystal where the limped wrist crowd hangs out.. :???: I know it was either the Crystal in Bozeman or Billings that was supposed to be that way....

Back years ago- the Eagles was the place to go...

But that whole country has changed so much I don't recognize any of it anymore....

They probably remember the hippy days when the cowboys down there would get pretty lickered up, go catch themselves a hippy and shave his head. The fine was $20 for practicing barbery with out a liscence.
Uncle told us about that when he was going down there.

Worth it at twice the price.

The rodeo coaches took us to Famous Dave's BBQ for dinner it was great. Had a CAB steak in Buffalo Wy. that was awesome today. Bozeman doesn't seem that bad-they offered a pretty good deal and I wasvery impressed with the rodeo coachs and the campus. We headed to Riverton and Casper today and that all went well too. Thermopolis, Wy is the noisiest place I've ever spent a night in-they don't sell truck mufflers there or what lol. Ty will be spending all his time in the mountains I'
d imagine lol.

Any time I can get my chompers into a CAB steak, I will not pass it up. I cooked up a CAB tri-tip in the oven last night with a dry rub on it. Oh golly, what a solid-gold experience. :D 8) :D

And about that Crystal Bar "left-handed" comment from OT. Well, let's just say that I didn't notice and I'm glad of it. :P

I think the restaurant is called the 'Bozeman Trail' it's up at the north end across from the Best Western. There's a real good little steakhouse on the way up thge mountain to Ten Sleep not sure of it's name though.
