Hey Jodywy,

He was our neighbor for a little while, he moved into this corner of NM and started buying just about anything he could lay his hands on. Kept it for a few years and leased the grazing out to the highest bidder, never knew for sure the actual amount of the lease but it was alot higher than most were paying. He leased out the hunting and for the most part was never seen. Since he has come into this part of the country he has sold off most of the places he first bought for big profits and as far as I know he kept the one ranch with the best hunting, which is used only for hunting. Built a friend of mine a new house and shop and pays him to be the care taker. Course one of the things that set him apart from ole TED Turner was that he didnt go in and start bulldozing the old mining towns and cow camps on the historic place he still owns.

The manager he uses here also manages the Orvis property here. First thing he did was kick off the old leases andlet his friends lease most of it. He let one of the poorest operator (like everybodys grass)have two places next to me.
I know they have meet everybody price but mine, some were even higher then my listing but alot smaller properties. Think his manager telling him he can get mine for less  (nope)know what we need for the ranch we got spotted and to take care of the rest of the family....

Yeah, about the same thing happened here, with the place that neighbors us. One guy leased it and was supposed to stock it with his animals, the next thing we knew we started finding cattle on us with unfamilar brands. So we penned them and called in the livestock inspector and he started running things to ground and it turns out this fellow was subleasing the place to about 10 different people from all over the state and they were moving cattle around with out inspections and just being sneaky about everything. We were really glad when it was put back on the market and sold again.
