hawks ravens etc

Seems like more hawks then usually but we generally have quite a few. Not so many gophers for them to eat but they are catching mice in the hay fields.

We are seeing Ravens which we don't usually see in this area unless the odd time in the winter. Saw some the other day.

Hardly any Hungarian Partridge around but a decent crop of Sharptail Grouse.

The other day saw a flock of vultures. Must have been a good hatch.

lots of ground squirrels and cotton tail this yr,,, more than usual,,, so far they have left my chickens alone

I've noticed more ravens here lately. We have a good hatch of Sharptails and Huns, but not pheasants.

Doves and Gambel quail are all over the place...
eating all the oats my oat hay will give them,,,,,,, fat little suckers lol
Just worried about the yotes this winter

Looks to be a good year for sharp tail and ruffed grouse around here. Nice to see. Might have to gather up a feed of ruffed grouse pretty soon. Best eatin' bird around!

Haven't seen much for birds, but I've seen more coyotes in the last 30 days than I have in the last 3 years.

Apparently vehicle deer season has opened in full swing as well. Those idjits are all over the place in broad daylight now....so you are on the lookout all the time, not just sunup and sundown! :x

Fewer ravens last winter and all summer than I've ever noticed. Hawks are around catching mice in the field.

It was wet and cold here when the grouse were hatching so not a lot of young ones. I haven't seen a sharptail yet this summer and both places usually have a flock on the hay meadows.

Wolves have eaten most of the coyotes.

Every year is different.
