Despite a total of 13 points (and a whoppin 3 3-pointers) from gussie, the mustangs ended their season, losing to manhattan christian!! The worst part was gussie's face when that final buzzer rang....she broke into tears and the hubby walked out into the middle of the court to put his arms around her and let her cry on those big, strong shoulders!!! DNA be damned....nobody gonna tell that girl that he is not her DAD!!!! Very, very sad!!!

Sorry to read that, it is always hard to lose that last one but it is just one more of lifes lessons. All that matters in the end is if the going up was worth the coming down, I bet Gussie thinks so, if not by tommorrow, 10 years from now. Hey, and now you can't tell me that Cowboyup isn't first rate :!:

The scene of cowboyup going onto the court to hold his daughter and dry her tears had the rest of the hometown crowd in tears of their own!!! Gussie knows she went down fighting and can hold her head up!! Especially since many in the crowd say that THIS is the game that she should send the tape of to the coaching staff at Montana Tech!!
:D :D :D :D

Ranchwife:

Tell Gus, or show her, that we're proud of her. sw is right that last game, match, or race is tough, but sadly it's part of growing up.

Working hard and getting beat typically puts a ton of character into a person, and I'm sure that character will take Gus far in life.

You all should be very proud of her...

Sorry for the end of the season, keep your chin up! That which doesn't kill a person makes them tougher and wiser.

And, last, but certainly not least, cowboyup thank you for being an awesome Dad.

Cheers---

TTB

:cry2: :cry2: I feel for Gus,hard being her last year and thats where those tears of hers came from, this year her life changes,I think thats also what got to cowboy-up....looks to me shes as lucky as you are ranchwife, with how her "daddy" came into her life.

I agree with all of you.....Gussie is managing to hold her head up with pride...she knows that she went out with a BANG and has even been asked by her coach to help coach the junior high girls this week!! Really neat honor!!! Now, she is looking forward to Prom (her last one...ever!!) which comes up in about 3 weeks....time to go dress shopping!!! Ya got any ideas there, sw??!!

do you remember last year's prom dress "idea" from sw??? Something pink, with lots of lace, frill and a collar up to her chin and full-length sleeves!!! DEFINITELY NOT GUSSIE~!

Very very few get to win the last game, but everyone can play with courage. Sports teach so much - partly because of the harshness of the delivery.

I'd hate to ever lose to any team out of Manhattan, but at least Manhattan Christian is likely the best team from the "little crapper."

Losers laugh at the end and winners cry-your daughter sounds like every coaches dream-you can't beat having 'game'. I bet a trip to Canada for some exhibition games would cheer everybody up-Megan still has a month left of basketball till HOOPLA in Regina.
