here is the last 25 years of Heisman winners...... name the 3 biggest flops, and the 3 biggest achievers.

1981

Marcus Allen

2001 Eric Crouch Nebraska QB Sr. 770
2002 Carson Palmer USC QB Sr. 1,328
2003 Jason White Oklahoma QB Jr. 1,481
2004 Matt Leinart USC QB Jr. 1,325
2005 Reggie Bush USC RB Jr. 2,541
2006 Troy Smith Ohio State QB Sr. 2,540

biggest achievers.

I think Reggie Bush, and Lienert are off to great starts, then I guess Marcus Allen needs to be in there.......even if he knows OJ did it, and kept it quiet.

3 biggest flops? Rozier, Crouch, and Ricky Williams. two backs who had tremendous potential, and a QB who never deserved the prize

The problem becomes is what makes the guy a flop... I think everyone knew that Crouch wasn't going to be a QB in the NFL.. Kind of like White Fromm Oklahoma... Or even Gino from Miami.. Or Charlie Ward...

Huge busts... Well, Ricky had more talent but he also got a lot more out of it than Salaam.. Total pot head jsut like Ricky and smoked himself out of the league, that and he couldn't hold onto a football to save his life..

Bush and lienart have a chance but does Bush have a chance to be Barry Sanders? And Carson Palmer already is acheiving although he and Lienert are both cursed by bad franchises.. Troy Smith will be a nothing pro

The Heisman is supposed to be for the best player in college, not the best future pro.

but if you are awarded as the top in the NCAA, shouldn't that carry over to the NFL ??? if not then the HYPSMAN is all hype, has no bases for being awarded, and is just a sham? is this what you are implying???

I'm not implying anything, just stating fact. If the best college players automatically transferred to the best pros, drafting players would be a cinch, wouldn't it?

You're calling Crouch undeserving despite his gaudy numbers because nobody in the pros runs the option? Come on, Jigs, your anti-Husker bias is clouding your judgement.

could be the anti husker thing, but it is sad that these guys can not convert it to the pros. perhaps that heisman is helping crouch sell his playground equipment though.
