I am a separated mom living in Southeast Alaska with three young boys. We have a mini operation at the edge of our town goats, chickens, ducks. I got on here because I hope to do more in the future Lord willing(beef and mutton on the hoof), and especially because I want be a support to my neighbour ranchers and farmers.

Loved my 4 years in Alaska after the pipeline But sadly got squeezed out by the unemployment in 1979, About 50,000 of us were trying to stick it out until the gas line was started that never started. I meant to return but Jackson Hole turned out to be a decent substitute until lately. Can't get the wife to move to Seward. A article I wrote about my first year there published in Mushing Magazine and Last Frontier Magazine. http://www.the-hole-picture.com/articles/Cheechakos-Alaska.html

My dad was in Alaska for 15 years. He would have been there when you were there. He helped make the pioneer roads they took the equipment in on to build the highways.
I'll read your article in a little while. Thanks for sharing it.
