Hello all!
My paternal side of the family has been in Alpine Tx, Brewster County since, well, the beginning I guess. My 3rd great grandfather was JD Jackson, one of the founding members. We have some very old implements out there on the ranch, and I'm looking for information on what they were used for.

No way to know unless we see photos of them.

No need to apologize. :) You can click on the little image the blue arrow is pointing at, or sometimes the
green box bottom left that says Attach Files. This should help you post pictures.
It takes a bit to sort some of this "stuff" out. Be looking forward to pictures. No rush take your time and have fun. :)

Man, I tell ya, when my Aggie light shines, she shore does shine bright...
Aggie by blood, so it can't be held against me, state law. But I wear it proudly.
Thank ya!
Ok, so now my Ronnie Millsaps glasses are off, here we go...
I threw in some pics of a little barb wire too. The larger coils I imagine are more "modern" erra. But the old post has some I believe is pretty old. Kinda sad sometimes I didn't get to grow up on the ranch. I am blessed to have worked many summers out there. I wish I would have gotten more pics of the shifter. But the next trips planned.
Speaking of the barb wire, there are many many huge coils of it sitting. It's un used, and am pretty sure it has been for many many years. They're is/was other places we kept wire that went to fence replacement and repair. I'm pretty sure. But does it really matter in the end? Does barb wire go bad really? I'd like to start getting rid of it. Reduce the inventory if nothing else. Much of our interior and border fencing is new or newer. If all those reals are 10+ years old- would it be just scrap? Fencing is higher than Giraffe tails, so I'd feel almost sacrilegious scrapping it if it's still viable. The rolls are still tight, never enrolled and never tensioned. But anywhoos. Sorry for the long post. Remember, in my defense, I'm new/Aggie by blood.
God Bless!
Thanks again!

1/4 mile spools of new wire is hovering around a $100

Is that machine some sort of corn sheller?
I can't get an overview of what the whole machine looks like.

I'll have to double check what we paid last.
It may be a corn sheller. Copper tubbing for a still was found on the property lol.
I was rushed a little bit on the pics. It was just a day trip.
I appreciate the input!
