Hey OT

Some stock in the NRA is flat real good...But I haven't been following a lot of their shows lately as most of the locals went open or PRCA...
The complaint with the NRA rodeos was there were too many women and kids events....
Not too sure who Big Circle is- Tam could find out pretty quick from her uncle Larry....Lot of these local smaller rodeos (Opheim-Saturday--Hinsdale-Thursday) are put on by Larry Wirtz from Outlook and Jack Hinnaland out of Circle...That may be the name they are calling themselves now :???:

I have a meeting today- and one of the roping stock and bull contractors will probably be there- I'll try to check it out....

OK- I get it now....I talked with my friend who is a contractor today-- and he told me that Big Circle is the Vairas from Circle/Richey area- which have been raising broncs for quite awhile..Used to have some good horses... They also have a pro (PRCA) string they run under the name Gold Buckle (if I remember right)...Lots of the rodeo club folks have wanted to bring them in for our Fair PRCA rodeo- instead of Brookman- which has caused a big stink  ... Big Circle does have a website with pics of their broncs and rodeos...

His comments were they were fair broncs with some good ones- but you have to remember he was/is a subcontractor to Brookman and supports him....
I've kind of stayed out of the contractor argument- since my son took over the arguing on the rodeo committee   ....

I know Ty is having surgery and won't make it-- but if any of those bronc riders you know want to hit a couple of rodeos just south of the line- both Opheim and Hinsdale are Open rodeos and could use more in both bares and broncs...Entries closed on Opheim, but I know they'd take more and I have someone that could get them in-- and they have $600 added + buckles+ an All Around that pays extra for top roughstock man in both rodeos combined......My "kid" comes back every year to visit just so he can ride at both - and usually picks up $1000+ (and a few buckles) so he can pay for his trip home...Also picked up the extra Roughstock All Around buckle and money last year.....He's flying into Rapid City tommorrow and one his girlfriends drove down today to pick him up (oh to be young again with a girlfriend in every town  )

Both rodeos will be Hinnaland and Wirtz- lot of wild horses with some proven oldtimers..... Opheim is June 28th- Hinsdale July 3rd-- and with the local all class reunion going over the weekend of the 4th- there will be no rooms to be had-- but I do have a couple of spare bedrooms that have been used by a cowboy or cowgirl travelling thru a time or two

He's up in Calgary on 7/06 and /07 so he's going to try and get healed by then-but it's something to look forward too next year. It really sucks having to sit out the next ten days-lots of good money to be had.
