:D

I have been in the Fly. I am selling a ton of equipment this year. The Money is good but free time has been nearly nill. That and a buddy of mine wanted me to buy him calves.

We found some good grazing arrangements, so I filled his card up in April and May.....I thought for sure that the timing might become a wreck, but we tried it given some real cheap grass costs. It turns out that was a pretty good time to get in on calves as they have gone up....Hmmmm...Maybe it is time that I look a a contract on these calves, LOL

One thing I have been selling a ton of is Hydraulic Chutes. The Chute I have been selling is designed to be affordable to most Cow/Calf guys. I have also sold some Higher end ones. Problem is, those ones are referals I don't make money on. I figure if I send someone to another guy to get them into what suits them best, well, they will always know I was honest. It usually ends up that they call me first next time and I get the first shot at thier business.......

So, I think it is time to look at designing a higher end Chute, but that is another topic...Another thread.....Mainly just wanted to say Hi to everyione and let you know I have forgotten you....

I'll be in Hamilton next Wednesday and then up to Great Falls. Should I wave as I am driving to say Hi?? LOL,

Hi :) I even noticed that you hadn't been around...and neither have I (much). Glad you're back and that all is well. Stop by sometime.

PPRM-----i do not care how "busy" you have been.....staying out of touch with all of us is simply inexcusable!!!!!   I have 2 words for you....WIRELESS LAPTOP!!!!
Hamilton and great falls, huh??? Heck yeah you should wave....just might end up seeing ya on the road.....ya never know which road I will find myself on on my days off!!! Glad to have you (and Nicky) back....just don't be such a stranger!!

Glad that you are selling a lot of livestock equipment. That means
the folks buying can afford to update some old stuff, so that is a good
deal for all; even the cattle!!!

Nice to have you here again. Glad was good luck and not bad
that kept you away.

I'd say wave on your way by, BUT, you aren't very close to us!!
Have a safe, successful journey.

Thanks everyone....

I will say it feels good to see people update thier equipment. To see them later when they have worked their cows and it isn't work, easier on teh cattle is rewarding.....Usually they wonder why they didn't do it before....

Some other things are also going good. My Two Year Old (now gelding) is being started. It is the first horse I have sent where the guy didn't say, He's good BUT.......He likes the way "Shotgun" moves and how smart he is. Shotgun is out of a Barred Mare and Doc's Genuine Risk Stud....

His yearling full brother got a quick Lesson on trailer loading. Actually, I had allocated an afternoon to Shotgun for this. Well.....He just goes right in and backs right out.....We do it a dozen times and no problems....So, I still have an afternoon....So I grab the Yearling...Now He paws at the back of the trailer about or 6 times and then he is right in and backs right out....We do this a dozen times with no problems...So I had the Afternoon to nap :D :D :D

PPRM,

Everyone is getting older, and help is getting scarcer, a facilities upgrade is a nobrainer with buck and a half calves - besides its cheaper than a divorce. Congrats on your success. Are you swapping chutes you manufacture or someone elses?

Those Doc Bar ponies have a brain - helps everyday you own one.

Good dogs, horses, faciities and help (especially if it is the Significant other in your life) all help to make this a joy rather than work,

The Chutes are from a manufacturer I work for....

PPRM

BTW,

I have been vague on the manufacturer for two reasons....I am not at all ashamed of who I work for and Love most of the products.

The first reason is that when I first came to this site, it was all mixed together......A lot of the people in what is now the Bull Session pretty well convinced me to keep a low profile based on thier responses to anyone that posted. A lot of evil and hate spewed. I wanted no part of it...

However, if the bunch that regularly posts in ranch Talk was my only exposure, well, I would have a different outlook...

Second reason is maybe the biggest. I own cows and trade calves. I want to post as a guy that owns cows and trades calves. My posts are my own views and don't need to be confused with those of an equipment manufacturer. Plus, you will find that I am one who really believes a lot of companies make good products. It is a matter of finding the ones that fit you and what you do....So who i work for can be pretty irrelevant...

Some on here already know who I work for based on private correspondences...It is not that I am ashamed or trying to be sneaky in anyway....More of a deal where i don't want it to get in the way of what I try to say here.

Those that know me in real life, their opinions matter the most to me. i can stand on those laurels anytime,

PPRM,
who cares about most of the posting in BS sessions, they don't matter to most of the people that make their living from cows, or the people who make a living selling priducts to the people with the cows. If you have a product that works for me, bring it on. I have missed your level of information on this forum along with the fact that you feed cattle, raise calves, are involved with the beef industry. It still bewilders me that ranchers have the stupidity with them to say they are not in the beef industry, they are cow/calf producers. Where does their product go, who is their main client, if they don't have the feeders/packers/retailers working with them how are they going to sell their product? Is greenpeace or some enviro group going to buy their calves from them at market price just to get cows off the range? with this kind of rant this should probably be into a different forum, but the other forums are being overtaken by nonranchers just to spout their poitical BS,

sw,

I seldom visit the Bull Session.....Any thot is subject to the rudest ridicule and spouting of agenda doctrines that don't interest me...The rudeness is the worst....My personal thots don't seem to fall lockstep with either sides and there tends to be two sides very polar....

Anyway, the friendly people are here and here I'll stay. The disagreements exist here, but the civility is what seperates this from the Bull Session,

So, I waved indesriminantly before getting to Missoula......I take Missoula isn't really Montana, but more like the Planet "Outter Space' LOL....Same as Bozeman....

Anyway, I see a lot of you are etting your hay up, so too busy to wave back, that is ok, LOL.....

Trip to Great Falls was cancelled, so back towards Spokane tommorrow...I really do like the folks I deal with in Montana.....Where they Smoke in the Bars and drink in the cars.....Naw, seriously, anywhere that has Nickel Tickets is a good place in my book,

If you waved to someone in either of those areas they were probably beamed in Californians and thought you were nuts....

They are the ones that are taking away our smoking in bars and drinking in cars too...
