Just wondering if any of you out there have any home remedies for dry cracked winter hands? I finally got smart and ditched the leather gloves that were sucking the moisture out of my hands but the cold and working without gloves at times has taken a very painful toll on my hands. Any suggestions? I have tries most of the over the counter stuff and most is just glorified snake oil.

another good one is

First off, Merino is a SKIN CREAM. Use it wherever you have skin. No all creams are not alike. The single most important ingredient in Merino is Lanolin. Once you use Merino you will immediately feel the difference. Here is a test. Work in the garden or work your hands in dirt without gloves. When you wash your hand they still feel rough and chapped and quite uncomfortable. Then apply Merino Skin Cream to your hands in several small applications. Your hands will feel great. In fact you will quickly forget your former discomfort.

I lather up in Vaseline before I go to bed and then wear brown jersey gloves. Helps get my hands moist all night.

No Crack Super Hand Cream for daytime use. I like it because it's not greasy so you can actually do something during the day. Bag balm is great but super-greasy and only really useful for overnight, in my opinion. I actually prefer Aquafor for overnight because it doesn't stink and it's not yellow like Bag Balm. I know I won't convert Bag Balm users so this isn't an argument. To each their own.

Hair care products like the old pomades, greasy as all get out and your hands will soak it up. In 5 min or so, you don't know it's there.

Here we use Udder Butter comes in a square tin probably the same as bag balm works good but like you say wear gloves with it on over night like you say not good for night life but later on with soft hands.....
