IT sure is a smoker out there today. Thermometer on the truck says 38C which Im thinking is around 100F+. With this high humidity you could add another 10 C on to the 38C bringing it to close to 50C. Good day to be in the air conditioner. Some of our black steers in the feedlot are not hacking this weather very good cut way back on the feed they are consuming!!

It's hot here, too. Not quite as hot as you, but hot enough. Air conditioning quit in my tractor, so I'm on my second day off in a row. I'm not melting into a puddle cutting hay for no stinkin' cows! I heard the average temp for around Winnipeg next week will be in the 40 C range. That's waayy too hot! We'll be sitting around 35 C. Yuck.

You guys keep that 100 degree stuff up there- bad enough the way it is...

Temp here is 94- with west winds 25-35 mph...With these winds and 15% humidity a mouse passing gas could start a fire...

Split a hydraulic line on the loader tractor about an hour ago--won't need it for a couple days-- too hot to work on it now, will worry about it later when it cools down- IF it cools down....Never got much below 80 last night....

MR- be thankful for your rain you were getting...I checked some wheat fields today that are in the bloom stage and about 9" tall....Not looking good...

It's hot here, too. The thermometer reads 104 degrees right now, at 3:40 MDT. I'm sitting in the air-conditioned house waiting for a mechanic to come out and see what's wrong with the electric tie on a baler.

There are a few big clouds forming off to the northwest. Maybe it will brew up a good rain.

It is sitting about 40.5 C right now here. I just finished sending the mrs on a parts run for a bearing for the baler. Wow it was hot taking the baler drive apart to get at that bearing. Sweat runnning right down my back....... :?

I've been welding a gooseneck nose on a bumper hitch rebuild job try all this heat with welding leathers and inside a sheetmetal box. What a guy will do to pay the bills,I have a 100 acres of hay down that most likely could have been baled today but I'm only one man. They have been talking a chance of rain and I did'nt want to get some big winrows wet.
Kids went to the lake for some FFA stuff for those that don't know what FFA really stands for it's FATHER FARMS ALONE....

Wish I was closer could have looked at it for you and saved you some $$$. Did you get any rain? We got jsut a sprinkle but it did cool it off a bit.

The wiring looked fine, but it was loose inside. I couldn't seem to figure it out, but the local technician didn't take long to solve the problem. Guess he has to make a living, too, and I am glad he was available to help me with my dilema.

We didn't get any rain, but lightning started a big fire off to the northwest. We dropped everything, and headed that way with two fire-fighting rigs. We traveled five miles through some of the roughest hills in cattle country, but were relieved to see that the fire was about a half mile northwest of our northwest corner. We got to within a mile of it, and could see in the distance that it was all but extinguished. There were at least four other pickups with sprayers on the scene. Since it looked to be in good hands, we turned around and came home.

A strong wind demolished the few windrows that didn't get baled. Tomorrow it will need to be reraked and baled. Wish it had all gotten wet, but that just didn't happen. Oh well, someday........... :?

It was kinda cool here today. Only got up to about 35C (90 something F). Had about 30 T-storms blow through and ended up with less than 1/10" of rain.
Planning on knocking down a 1/4 section of prairie hay tomorrow, before it drys out and disappears. Also have a couple hundred acres of oats that is only a foot tall and starting to head out.....TOAST.
If you have any extra rain, M_R, send it south!!!!
What a difference 40 miles makes!!!! If we don't get some rain in the next week or so there will be no 2nd cut and the pastures will be done for.
Other than that, life is good!!! :D :D :D :D

The past few days here in central KS is has been upper 80s and around 90 today and a farily decent chance for the next 3 days :D sure hope and pray that is true. By next weekend it is to be near 100 but around 90 or less til then.Hope all get rain :!:

Last few days it's been in the low 90s, with 70% humidity which makes it feel......well like a sauna LOL I'm not complainin tho, the recent rains are what give us the humidity and without that, ya'll all know where we'd be. spent most of the day yesterday helpin Mr Lilly work on the corner of the shreader that was bent, he tried several things to straiten it, and just finally gave up straitening, and cut the corner off and rebuilt it with new iron. Looks good as new now. He's got a few more welds left on it, then I'll be off to the pastures to shread. Yeah!!!!!! No a/c in the cab(windowless), but if I keep the tractor movin I'll make my own breeze. And keep a jug of ice water handy.

Well if you wait for a rainy day it could be a while. I'm only busy from 4:00 AM until noon here lately. The rest of the time it is too friggin' hot and DRY to do anything. Come on down some afternoon and we'll have a beer guzzling contest.(I'll win).
Neighbors started feeding cattle in a couple of their pastures yesterday.I'm OK for a while but this could get ugly.
Need any skunks???

After sausage making today our daughter headed south, camping in mind. Around Carstairs weather warning came over the radio to take imediate cover, tornado warning. She took pictures of a large funnel cloud, haven't heard if it hit,and did any damage...but we're watching the chuckwagons and Calgary sure got somthing, they are running in MUD

Tim,

What is your wife going to do with those darn skunks? Some afternoon when we get caught up Ill give you a call and we ll drop down for a visit. So far the pastures up here look good but we are still feeding a few cows we have left at home here but they will be going ot pasture this week. I heard there were a good number of pairs at virden last week wonder if they come from downin your area?
