A quick glance and I didn't find any postings on this.

These bills have to do with organic farming in the US, traceability and imported food.

While I totally agree we need more accountability in imported food since the US imports 63% of our food supply but there are many things I don't like in the bills and Congress is fasttracking these bills right on thru.

Anybody else have thoughts on this?

I've seen some chatter on this issue, I downloaded the bill and read some of it. The claims some are making about destroying organic farming and nationalizing the food system/farming aren't clearly in there, but it doesn't mean they're not. If someone takes the time to read it, it sounds like you'll see that the policies will have the unintended consequences of exactly what people are worried about.

The one thing that caught my attention was that the new director could change any of the guidelines at any time..... when we have a squirrely (sp?) bunch in Washington what if they decided to not implement any of the changes for imported food but hold American producers to high standards. That could very well happen.

Imported food should have to have the very same standards they expect of American farmers.
