I have built 3 houses, and the outside goes along pretty good then it seems like you ain't never gonna get through in the inside.
Looking good tho.
Good luck

Closer then we were this spring Haymaker. Hoping to have all the sheet rock up both upstairs and downstairs by this spring. And maybe some of it mudded and taped. We are deciding if we should have the texturing hired out or just try to do it ourselves.
Yeah it does feel like it will never be done, but we know it will be.

On a good note we have decided on the flooring upstairs. Going with natural Hickory hardwood. And ceramic tile in front of the door ways and in the mudroom. Still talking about the basement though.

Yup, looks ike you guys are doing things right. I like the look of the logs, lots of colour.
If I were to do it again I would hire the mudding and taping done. There's folks that do an excellent job in no time flat for a pretty reasonable price. Around here there's folks from the colonies (hutterites, Russians) that fit the bill nicely.
Also, if I were to do it again I would finish the basement before I moved in. Because we didn't we now have a cave that stuff migrates into but never leaves  I would probably do more finishing upstairs too, because it turns out once you're in a lot of that stuff never does get done lol

I couldn't agree more!! You look at that texture for a long time. We tried
to do ours in the bedroom, bad idea!! Some of it ran...down the wall...I'd
never try that again! And get done what you can before you move in, cuz
it won't get finished very fast, just as Silver said. I don't know what there
is about moving in, but I know some people with a new house that still
don't have doors on their kitchen cupboards!

Nice to see your house coming along. Keep making it your dream come true,
not "I wish I had done this (or that) before we moved in." :D

We don't plan to move in until we are at least 99.9% done. Only project that would be left would be the closets.
Talked to a guy I know that does texturing and he said he could texture our house for around $500-$700 but I plan to get a few bids though.

Hubby wants to build my kitchen cabinets. Going to do the boxes in alder and the fronts in maple.

I have to ask about the drum in the bathroom....Set and practice whiletaking care of business??? :D :D :D :D

Just kidding it looks to be very nice

Hubby got 1 wall done and has started on the stairway!
Furnance duct work is half way done. Guys are suppose to be here today to finish it up.
Will try to post pics shortly.
