After one of the coldest winters we've had in a long time I lost fifteen of twenty nine bulls. They were either good or really bad, 45% was the best motility on the bad bulls.
Was wondering if the cold weather had affected anyone elses bull power.

Youch! Sorry to hear about your disasterous testing. All bulls here tested good, and it was a cold and windy winter. They have good shelter though.

How old were the bulls you tested?

Sorry to hear about the bulls. One thing we tell customers is to have them rechecked especially if they have no injury, you would be surprised how many bulls pass the second time around. Sometimes they just need a little green grass or time to get themselves cleaned out. The winter of 66 Dad had some bulls drift off during the spring blizzard and they were pretty frosted up and wouldn't pass the first time and passed the second time around.

have a cold one

I winter my bulls out with the cows after preg checking. During the coldest part of the winter they have brush to get in plus straw that I throw out for them to either eat or bed in.
The bulls ranged in age from 3 yearlings that I raised, 3 two year olds, 5 three year olds and the rest being older. My vet mentioned maybe retesting them but didn't seem to think the results would change much. Guess its just one of those years.
