From where I sit, CU is just another thing in a long list of good things about Colorado ruined by left coasters.
I won't argue that point.
Know the difference between Texans and Californians?
The Texans have some fun, spend some money, maybe buy a summer house, and go home. Even if they didn't, they are moral christian people with good old time values and we always welcome that.
The Californians come here , look around and decide it's everything they want in a place to live(having been froze out of Montana). After a couple weeks they decide they arrived just in time to save us from ourselves and start looking for stuff to change. Then they vote against things like school bonds because they already raised their kids, and ours are mentally deficient anyway. That and the fact that the tax dollars need to go for increased fire protection for the 5billion dollar trophy homes stuck up in the trees where nobody in their right mind would build. Of course property values are now so high my kids can't afford to live here anyway.
It's like manifest destiny in reverse. I would say I hope we survive it but , it's pretty much already too late. The whole front range is already lost. Except for Fort Collins, of course that's where our Aggies go to school.(including two of mine)
And YES that's exactly how I feel. If any newly transplanted left coasters want to get togther and talk about it PM me and I'll arange a meeting out here in the country somewhere. PS better bring your lunch!
