hows winter

having some of that white stuff swirling around the air right now, but the temp is up to 36 degrees...heck...we're having us a regular old heatwave right now!!!   I can handle the cold...I can handle the snow....it's the dang old wind that whips it all into overdrive that has me climbing the walls most days!!!

The snow we got last week thrw a wench in most plans but the cold coming in has been the hard part. I can handle it usually but going from 70 degrees on a Tuesday to 7 days later having a low around 0 is just a bit much for this camper.. Oh well, we are going to get a thaw next week... Going to be a mess.

Right around 0 here today - 32/33 for you south of the 49th. But we also had another 4" of snow last night. Overall we have around 12-16", and this warm spell that came in today is the first break we've had in almost 3 weeks of being below -20C.

EEEWWWWW!!! SLUSH!!!    At least when you are driving on packed snow you can maintain some sort of control, but slush can take your vehicle and just spin 'er outta control!!! Take care on those roads, Il Rancher!!!! :D

We've been pretty good around here so far. We have about 2" of snow and it has stayed frozen. We're supposed to warm up which means mud. I enjoy this type of weather because the ground doesn't get torn up when you feed. THE GIRLS ARE HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!

It stooped rainning at about 12:am on thursday and started snoowing about 11pm on thursday. I don't know how much rain we got... It was a lot The top of the ground where it did pddle kind of froze (we have a lot of sand here) but the rest? Nope.. We have lots of bales sitting in a field. We need to wait for a thaw and than a freeze before we can go get them.

Oh.. Ranchwife, you get used to slush driving in Illinois, it is pretty common.. no, the bad stuff was the black ice on the I-80 on Friday and Saturday. Couldn't believe the traffic back ups.
