Iowa fans are tired of hearing about 1995. Have Husker fans bothered to check the trophy cases the past 15 years? Lotta dust, they say.

The condescension radiating from Big Red Nation, they say, extends all the way to Shawn Eichorst.

"You can't have an athletic director say, 'We don't want to stoop to the level of Iowa.'"

Iowa is the Texas of the Big ten..... where oh where will Nubbs run to next???

Can't go back to the Big 12, that's for sure. They've all improved while the Hucksters continue to regress.

Can you imagine the wonking that Baylor, TCU, OK State, OK, Texas Tech, KSU, Texas and the rest would put on them now?

Maybe they'll hire Les Miles from LSU?

We got beat by 8 points. We handed them 7 on a silver platter. The penalties, especially having our best defensive player ejected from the game, and then Tommy throwing 4 picks, was just too much to overcome. The weather totally sucked for all involved, too. Iowa is a better team than most are giving them credit for. I wish them luck in the post season.

How many conference wins do the MildCats have this season, Jigs...and how many top 10 ranked teams have you beat this year?

IMHO, there isn't a team from the Thug Conference could hang with a lot of teams from the B1G in the weather we played in today. 20° or less with a 20 mph+ wind out of the north tends to separate the men from the boys.

Wow, been awhile since I have had time to post. I see Mike hasn't changed, hell he knows more about Nebraska than Tom Osborne. And I see Jigs has cooled his jets a little but who wouldn't when your teams greatest coach of all time can still only manage a .500 season. And for Loomixguy thank you for keeping it real. As for me, quite disappointed. But I did attend the Nebraska vs. Michigan St. Game a couple weeks ago and it gave me some hope. Hadn't been to that kinda of win and atmosphere since probably when I was a kid going to games with my Grandpa watching Osborne win national championships. One positive about these hard times is maybe I can get our season tickets, that have been in the family for 55 years, transfered to my name without the huge donation required now. As for the Big ten, well I watched ESPN college football final this morning and they were saying the Big ten is the best conference in the nation and the rankings prove that. So Go Big Red and keep up the bullshit.

My son missed out on tickets for the Iowa game by 5 minutes...he wasn't happy, but with the weather & all it was probably for the best.

I was hoping for a better season, record wise, than what we had. But, a few years down the road, it may be one of the best things that happened to us. I don't have any problems with Riley...I think he came into a program that had as much or more tradition than any program in the country, but had slowly suffered internal implosion under Pelini and his total ineptness as a HC. Angry players, fans, and boosters, along with extremely negative social media, made for a very confusing and volatile atmosphere. IMO, Riley did the best he could with the talent he had, but some of the talent was less than talented. The ghost of Bo Pelini is slowly fading, especially with the W over Michigan State, but it's still going to be lurking around.

I do think Tommy Armstrong needs to change positions to either a running back or a receiver. When the pressure is on, all the practice and coaching goes out the window and he ends up making poor decisions. He can sure run with the ball, but as a passer & decision maker he fails the test. If this new QB that's enrolled for January pans out at all, and the video on him is mighty impressive, along with his numbers...and if Tommy is the team leader that many claim he is, Tommy should step away in his own and let this new kid take the reins and go with it. Hopefully the recruiting will continue and we'll get the guys we need. Then if we have to, we can pull the legendary trick of the Crypt Keeper and raid the juco's if we need some depth at key positions.

I was out delivering feed all day Friday, so I listened to the entire game on the radio. I noticed that Jig's personal hero and favorite Husker Matt Davisson is still snarky as hell, and I noticed that former QB Steve Taylor's lisp gets very pronounced the more excited he gets.

What's a real killer for the Hucksters will be no bowl practice. That's the number one attraction for a bowl invitation. Those weeks of practice puts the stay at home crowd way behind for next year. I agree it's not fair but those are the rules. Plus, not being able to invite recruits to the bowl is a big, big deal.

College football teams not playing in bowl games will miss out on more than their players receiving a free video game system or shopping spree at an electronics store.

Teams like California, Cincinnati, Rutgers and Texas, which will not go bowling after disappointing seasons, also will miss national exposure, valuable practice time and a chance to sell their programs to potential recruits.

"Number one, it really hurts the development of your young players," said Rutgers coach Greg Schiano, whose Scarlet Knights finished 4-8 after playing in five straight bowl games in 2005-09. "You are looking at 10 to 15 practices that we miss out on."

It's probably no coincidence that all but 19 of the 70 FBS teams playing in bowl games in 2010 appeared in the postseason last year. Many coaches believe bowl practices are a spring board to next season, because they get to spend so much time developing younger players who don't get nearly as many reps during the regular season.

Tommy could have daily practices for the rest of his life, and there still wouldn't be any improvement in his play at QB. Apparently he's a great kid, but totally uncoachable. The lessons don't stick.

How many cornhuskers fans does it take to change a lightbulb?

NONE, they all sit around in the dark talking about how bright the bulb USED to shine

At least Nebraska's bulb did shine at one time. The MildCat's bulb was a factory defect from the get go.

But from what I see, the Wildcats don't sit around and complain about that defect and let it consume them..

Do the cases of "Domestic Violence" really go up dramatically after the Hucksters lose a game? Ya'll should really leave the women & kids out of it.

Big talk from the #1 supporter of the Thug Conference. Your boy Muschamp is a real class act...probably was at church bright & early this morning teaching Sunday School.

Looks to me like the only ones consumed in this thread are Mike & Lil Mike.

Here's where Muschamp got called for the penalty. Is it right that he got one and Saban didn't? Just shows how much you DON'T know what you're talking about. Shouldn't Muschamp get a warning too? Yep, that's the rule. P.S> Watch for the hold that didn't get called, no way they didn't see it.

So NOW you're whining about bad calls by the refs?

Pfffffft. Nebraska had more penalties due to poor officiating than most teams this season. Put on your big girl panties and deal. We did.
