This is very true, HiredMansWife.  It all goes back to the Disney thing, I think, as the greens/animal activists try to give human emotions and values to animals.  The Humane Society gets carried away on so many things, but misses the most obvious abuse cases that go on for years, in spite of numerous reports.  They need to focus on those, where conscious thought goes into the abuse.
