I had the chance to bid on some ground that one of the cities around here own it was a said bid to be opened in a public meeting. I put in a bid of 40 dollars an acre well needless to say I was out bid by double by nothing more than a bunch of people that got it for nothing more than to keep cows or any other time of livestock off it for the next three years. Their comment was now we will have some peace and quite down there and not be bothered with any animals. Well all I can say is I hope they are the first to perish from hunger  . Anyway I am afraid that this is going to become a major problem in the future.

An intense debate about a proposed increase to the area mil levy came to a close on Tuesday, May 7, as the bond which would have provided funds for a surgery expansion at Star Valley Medical Center was defeated by the count of 1,655 to 668. A total of 2,323 votes were cast overall.

The measure was voted down in all nine hospital district precincts including a total of 401 to 239 in the two Afton areas.

The Etna/Freedom precinct went 175-38 opposed to the proposal and nearly all the other areas outside the valley's four incorporated towns followed similar totals.
