plenty of civil war history around me. I live in west knoxville and a small battle was fought here, The battle  of Campbells Station. We used to have a re-enactment (sp?) every other year in a big field where the battle took place. Now it's a putt-putt course and driving range, go figure. Several civil war graves all around.

One of the last mom and pop stores around was owned by J Frank Russell, his family owned the farm before the civil war and he would tell stories of when he was a kid about him and his grandmother pulling cannon balls and rifle balls out of the old house and throwing them into the creek.
