anyone ever hear of floating an inflated tire in a tank to keep the ice out
i have an 8 foot tank that i have ti fill with a hose very 3 days
was wondering if anyone had heard of this

I have never tried this but I feel a good black tire with an inflated tube would probably give you about a 4 to 5 degree temp rise so if you are in an area with daytime temps at or around freezing it would probably help but I would not count on anything more.

I have noticed that tractor duals will have the snow melted around them so I'm sure they do collect and hold some heat but I'm not sure it is enough to be of help.

I have a friend that puts water in his tires for weight had one freeze back in the 80's. It was pretty bad because when he went out to hay his cows the tire broke all apart when he drove the tractor. Now he puts 3 gal of anti-freeze in each tire with the water.
