Howdy everyone.
Good to be back again, but boy do I sure got a LOT of reading to do on here.
Came back home to find this:
Sure was lonely and strange to not see the cattle there. They were sold over a month ago, and it's snowed a lot then. I'm so used to coming home and seeing feeder calves in the corrals at this time of year, but my god, it was very different to not see have any around. But I guess at least it saves on the work to get them fed up in all this snow, and in the spring mud-season. So I guess I can say that's a plus. I still miss them though, miss the work needed to get done to get them fed, seeing them...
.
Hopefully this spring maybe when the grass gets tall we can purchase a few heifers from my uncle to throw in to keep the grass down. But right now, the farm has pretty much come to a complete stand-still. For now anyway....but its so darn hard to say anymore. Sometimes I feel that we're considering selling off the farm, and then it turns around with no we're not gonna let this place go. I honestly don't know anymore.
Anyway, been down to Cochrane a few weeks ago to see the girls, and boy have they grown! Cute as buttons, and the one not in the hospital (Claire) is already working on that little smile of hers. Myra's sure changed too, and looks like she'll be out of the hospital soon. I wish I could post pics of them, but my brother and his wife were against it. :?
Oh well, here's a couple pics I took on a little walk by the mighty Bow River.
Outline of the mountians in the distance
Sunlight on rushing water
Anyway, I'm back in the city again, back to school. I know I don't post much in the first place, and I shoulda put this post up before that other one in the Pictures thread, but yeah it's kinda good to get a little break...and get back into things. Just can't wait for this semester to end though. Except for the labs where I got to help cut up and get real gory with a freshly killed sheep, weaner pig, and chicken.
But I won't go into details.
Enough rambling from me. I've got some more reading on here to do.
Edit to add: The new forum looks like it's on its way to being all good....so far.
