OK I have to ask... is the mitchell center of alberta an actual rescue or just a guy who goes to auction and retrains then sells horses? To me this is a horse trader (nothing wrong with that...) not a rescue. Is this word getting rather overused?

I probably just put a sign on my mouth stating "insert foot here" but I had to ask anyhow.....

I only know what I read on their site, but it looks like a bit of rescue and a lot of horse trading, as they apparently roll some of the 'rescued' mares into their own broodmare band.

I think he thinks he's a 'rescue', and I'm sure they run it as such. As far as I'm concerned he's just a horse trader. He goes to auctions and buys horses, I don't know that he retrains any but ???. I've been to auctions and bought horses too and I don't consider myself a 'rescue'.
I'm not a Mitchell Centre fan..... or any 'rescue group' for that matter.
I feel that if they want to 'rescue' thats fine, but don't hound the public for feed and cash or whatever donations to keep them fed ect. If you don't have your own funds to do it then don't do it. JMO!

OH, and he breeds too??, well that ads to the problem too now doesn't it.
Now he even has more to feed and find homes for. :roll: Good Grief!

Kinda what I was thinking too Jigger Boss. Adding more horses of non-descript breeding can't really help the situation.

I agree with you guys. Wouldn't a legitimate rescue make sure they weren't breeding more.
