Interesting day

I left out this morning to so south. I needed to put protein tubs and salt out on two of the three places so I didn't haul a trailer and a horse this trip.

Got to the first place and backed up to the storage container and loaded the tubs and salt and took them around. Everything is normal. A bunch of new calve starting to hit the ground, got a decent nose count and went on.

Second place ditto.

Get to the third place and can't find a cow. They are supposed to be in the front pasture (about 600 acres). Finally found a gate open into the flats pasture and still can't find them Gate's oppen into another pasture and I finally found them. Two pastures away from where they are supposed to be. I called the owner that I deal with in Oklahoma City and guess what... Three of them were down this week driving around and Gee Golly must have forgotten to close a couple of gates. You ever given your boss a serious a$$ chewing??? Five minutes later I was promised that they would henceforth always leave the gates just like they found them. I just moved them out of that pasture last week.Z

Naw... These outfits are all owned by people that are so citified they lock their cars at the McDonalds Drive-Thru. Most of them are nice guys but they just don't understand. The good news is that they know it and let me do my job with no interference except for stuff like this. I usually only see them a couple of times a year and during hunting season I don't go near any of the places unless there is an emergency.

Six years on two of the places and nearly five on the other one. I got my first complaint last week. A larger margin of profit then the owners expected.Z
