When the wind starts howling a person really appreciates having hills and trees. I think the cows appreciate it too

That's heartbreaking. We have been waging war on trees on this place since 1952, but we still respect them and reap the benefits of them in the right places.Definitely!! There is nothing like trees for protection.
In OK a power company is removing all our friends trees. It's unnecessary. They are putting in overhead power line and they have an old easement, so apparently there is nothing that can be done about it. They have bulldozed the trees all along the road. Big. Old. Trees. For miles. It's sickening. Our friends are devastated. Those trees did so much good. Shade. Sound barrier. Protection. Now gone.
We have lived where there weren't many trees so we don't understand how anyone could justify cutting down 100-year old beautiful Ponderosa and Oak trees.
Sad what people do. Much is replaceable, but trees...take years, especially in the arid West.People up the road bought some land with shelter belt trees and 40 foot tall pine trees around the yard All gone. They asked me if I was one of the people mad at them.
I told them no it was their land but I was melancholy about the yard trees as I had many memories driving past and the one lady would always give a big wave, When her mother in law lived there we stopped to get milk off the Silver woods truck stopped there. Old Merv had ripped the crotch out of his pants and Mrs. Sawin was sewing them up for him.
Have you checked your messagesThe only tree on my place are cottonwoods along the river. The beavers seem determined to rid the world of them. There are still some juniper patches on the hill but getting up there to feed would be an issue. And the fences are all gone from the fire.
Yes and I replied. But my reply doesn't show up so I did it again.Have you checked your messages
