The hills are very green after some nice spring rains.

Except for the soapweeds. They seem to not be as green as usual.

Etta, your brand is on this board. You are in good company, with your brand being right next to that of Americus Liberator. He was
a presidential candidate for several national elections back in the 1970's and 1980's.

I noticed the soap weeds too, maybe they winter killed like a lot of other things. How much rain did you get Friday? I heard some big amounts down that way.

The rains are wonderful, but I've lost track of how much on what day. It is raining a good hard steady drizzle this morning, and there is over half an inch in the gauge already. I think on Friday we received 1.6" with a little pea-sized hail (Cody got over four inches with that rain). Wednesday night six tenths of an inch came down nicely. We trailed our last bunch to Quibles on Thursday morning, and branded 112 late calves that afternoon. Good thing we got the branding done, because there is a rather large pond encompassing the entire corral set-up at this time. Total rainfall so far since late April is now about to surpass the 11" mark. I feel badly that the rains aren't getting more into the area south and east of us, as it is still pretty dry in central Nebraska.
