There is a tool you can use to "probe" her to see if she has a blind pouch for a vagina or if she has a fukk reproductive tract.. I have one right now that could very well be one and am debating what I should do about her.. She is a dexter so if she is a free martin she is really worthless but if she isn't, well she is worth something..

I'm geussing you got the k and l key turned around. LOL

Nice, Katy. Looks like you're getting some good windrows. The odds that she is a freemartin is really high.

I see; I thought he was missing a "c".

Good god my typing is at a new low.. Yes, I hit double ll instead of kk.. Good gracious... I need to start spellchecking or something..

I think it is 95% chance of being a freemartin... At least that is the number always quoted me..

I think some bizarre disease is spreading from keyboard to keyboard I can't type today either :)

Lol I was gunna say, but then you should know what you were typing, so i just left it!

So your saying to ship her? :(

No... I am saying get ready to have to ship her but if you really want her you can have her examined and maybe you will get lucky.. 95% freemartin still means there are 5% that are "okay".. That would be 1 out of 20...

Keep her over the winter, throw her with a bull. Get's bred?, there is your answer. Not bred, you got a big soggy heifer to sell next fall for feeder prices. 900 to 1000 lb heifers sell a lot better than 600-700 lbers.

No matter to us, we keep them over and win either way.

Interestingly enough, I heard the auctioneer the other day describe two of the saddle mules as being big and "soggy." They weren't even wet, but were good big handsome mules.

Please take note, Kolanuraven.

By the way, Katy, those are nice photos that you took. Keep on clickin'.

I still think it's the goofiest description NEXT TO....these famous lines.

" well boys, she's square on all four corners"

" yes sir, look at that sharp-headed female".......makes ya think her brain case just isn't quiet big enough!!!!

and this one esp drives me over the edge

" Ankony....where cowmen buy bulls" Cow MEN????? EXCUUUUUSE ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh....women with money were never booted out the door that I ever noticed!!!

The cattle "language" has plenty of descriptive terms already...why make crap up that makes NO SENSE!!!

You might have a point. One thing to ponder, perhaps, is that the term "soggy" is probably more flattering in terms of livestock appraisement than it would be in the description of a person. :)

In my own case, I would much rather someone called my bovines "soggy" rather than saying that about myself, even though it rather aptly applies. :( :)

Things are looking mighty fine in your area CC. I wouldn't bet on the heifer breeding either, but Aaron raises a good point. You don't ever lose much on running a calf over to a yearling.

I see you are getting good with the camera.

Thank you for the nice comments, and ill keep her till we find out if shes a freemartin or not!! I sold my last years heifer and got $600 for her, but cant rember what she weighed! She was small tho, we got more for the small one than we did for the big finished(nice looking steers in my oppinion)
