Kansas 8 man football.....

Our little 1A school, the smallest school classification in Kansas is going to the PLAYOFFS !!! they started out rough, playing several state ranked teams and getting beat up pretty bad, but they pulled out a few good wins, and just enough of them were district wins to get us in the play offs for the first time in 6 years....

so proud of my boy, the QB, for taking a leadership role and pushing the younger guys to step up and play some ball....

we are one of the lowest ranked teams in the play offs, get matched up with one of the top teams, so it may be a short run, but we love it !!!

Congrats Are you d1 or d2? I see that Ness City, Ks is ranked number 8 in the whole country in 8 man.

we are div 1 .... all the teams are 9-0 8-1 or 7-2...then we sneak in at 4-5.... pretty sure we get a one game run in the playoff, taking on the defending state champ, and #1 ranked team....

but the boys deserve it, so proud of them!

well, the season is over for Pike Valley. had to see them go out in that fashion. they 45 ruled us in the 3rd quarter. lot of Senior boys who only won two games in three years, then fired it up and made the playoffs. so proud of this group. my boy sported a mohawk all season long, yesterday, the bulk of the team shaved in a mohawk.....it was awesome! hard to see after the game all those senior boys in tears, knowing it is over, never gonna be like this again.

we played the state champ from last year, and broke the leg of their star running back.... his season is over. I feel sorry for that kid to get this far, then be forced to sit the rest out....

our in league rival Rock Hills is playing Ness City for the state title next week.... hard to cheer for Rock Hills, but I may have to swallow my pride and do it...

How about Smith Center. Anyway that might be the team I was thinkin about. A few years ago they were really good. Kind of lost track

the Redmen moved up in enrolment, which put them up a class level.... they are having a rough time.... and the long time head coach has announced his retirment.



8 man has 2 divisions divided by size of school.... so there are actually two 8 man state title games, of the 4 teams in those games, we played 3 of them in the regular season....
