On the 3rd of July we had a kids rodeo and had fun messing around in the dirt! Stick horse races, chased a money calf and a goat! They had poles and barrels for the youngsters too!

With this old clay soil no matter how much ya water down the arena it takes 5 minutes till dust!

Littlest H headin' through the poles! Some fat guy was leading him!

And back through em' we go! He was having a blast! We missed getting a picture of it, but when he finished he tipped his hat to the crowd!

Little H decided Mom ought'a be the snubbin' horse so away they went!

If some joker would'a got Mom's horse's feet trimmed, she'd been mounted! If I'm not in trouble it isnt very long till I am!

Heading for home! It was a fun time for the kids! Next year we may start early and have a team branding and roping for us older kids!

Good for you H, kids need to have fun with their parents. Just wondering if you make a career out of fun or if it is just natural.  :-)

Kinda they way i was built Per! :D My folks took me and my brothers everywhere with them and we always tried to have fun while working or playing! I am pretty lucky to have my wife be my best friend and i think my kids hung the moon! We manage to spend a lot of time together and we love it! Life is way too short not to grin as much as ya can! What better way than with your family? :D When ya die, nobody remembers how much time ya spent working or not making memories. They remember the time ya had together!

Boy, did you hit the nail on the head. Just wish I had learned that philosophy 30 years ago.
Thanks H, looks like you had another good day. :D

Keep up the awesome parenting H. In a few years, when they can get themselves into the arena without help, you'll get the priviledged job of.....chauffeur, videographer, coach, etc. But it's alllllll worth it. :D

nice pics H, looks like a day well spent. those youth rodeos are more fun than a person would think. i have as much fun at those as i did when i was rodeoing, k....well almost
