Who said that inflation was bad anyway?

Might make a good getaway for your "romances" Haymaker.

Actually the 1 dollar is a down payment on the property. The price is 16,000$. They want you to bid a low down payment with high interest rates tacked on, so you never get done paying them off.

There are a lot of these rackets going on.

And the newest bovine handling equipment. lol.

Can you tell I am having fun with this site?

We went to visit our horseman friend when he lived in Texas. He picked us up at Lubbock. Funny, none of the country we travelled through looked
anything like the first picture that comes up. (The very green one with
the fence in the forground with rolling hills and brushy draws.)

Do you think it could be a little bit of a come-on?

BTW, Tap, I'll spring for the "latest in bovine handling equipment" if you'll promise to use it to round up with!!! :lol2: :lol2: :lol2:

Yep, I b'lieve it was Mac who sang that song, hadn't thought about it in some time............good song!

Looks like you are having fun........what, no work to do? Just kiddin, ya know!

Have a good day!

:cboy:

Yeap it was Mac Davis who sang "Happiness is Lubbock Texas in my Rear Veiw Mirror" and he coudlnt have said it better. I lived there for 8 1/2 years, and it aint nothin but tornadoes, wind and red dirt blowin 90 mph 6 mo outta the year. As for hills, there are no hills, it's surrounded by cotton feilds for miles n miles n miles.

Naw too ugly out there and way to dry,you are right about the scams seems like there is a new one every day.
That song yall are talkin about reminds me of another one "Abilene"
" Abilene"
, prettiest town I ever seen, women there wont treat you mean in Abilene"
..................
Bunch of Bull, everybody knows women will treat you mean any where Abeline included :D
And it dang sure aint pretty,I bought a new chevy pickup over the phone once, went up there to get it,was thinking bout that song along the way,boy was I in for a surprise, flat brown & dry is how I would describe it,guess that proves the ole sayin "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder"

HaHaHa....who'd name their kid "Jay Bird"......can you imagine growin up with a name like that? That's almost as bad as the Hogg family namin their twin daughters Ima and Ura (which is a totally true story)

That land says Lubbock, but it's not. Lubbock is not Cochran county. The only towns listed in Cochran county are Morton, Whiteface, and Griffin. Only One road goin thru the whole county.LOL and it says it's 1 mile from the New Mexico Line.....ewwwwwww, not pretty country at all.

Abilene is (in my opinioin) NOT a pretty town. Like so many out there, it's been Oilfield oriented for too many years. Lotta abandoned oilfield company's and lotsa pipe layin around. The newer part of town is nice, as far as "town" goes, but when you get to the older part of town it's trashy. Back when that song was made, "Abilene" it mighta been a pretty lil town, but not no more.'
Midland, Odessa, BigSpring, Sweetwater, Pecos, and even My home town of Monahans, are all lil Yucky Oilfeild towns that are lookin Ghostly.

Faster horses said:
Midland, home of George W. Bush, the pampered baby boy that was
(according to kolunraven) a Trust Fund Baby.

He grew up in Midland, Texas...just like any other kid.

I know, this didn't belong here, but I just had to do it.

:)

There are a couple of Nebraska communities doing that too. Like most of the nation, Nebraska's population continues to increase. But the problem is, most of it is in the southeast corner of the state.

There are a lot of communities in the western 2/3 of the state that have been steadily losing population for decades.
