Nancy and her husband take care of some of our heifer calves (now yearlings) during the winter.

While my sister guards the gate

Ones yet to sort. We just put about 70 or 80 head at a time in the sorting corral, sort out the heavies, and then turn the rest into another lot. Then we bite off some more and repeat the process. That day we did five different drafts. This is easier than wallowing through the whole herd at once.

Peach being a cowgirl to help drive the heavies home. I enjoyed riding the range with my Ranger at this point.

Sorry for the confusion. The Nancy that takes care of my heifers isn't my sister. Nancy and Rex Peterson live southeast of Gordon. They are originally from Colorado, but have lived in this area for quite a few years. They are the ones that take care of some of our yearling heifers, and are also wintering some yearling bulls for us.

My sister, Nancy, and her husband Shawn Vineyard ranch north of Oshkosh, Nebraska. They have a nice herd of Angus cattle. They also have two great college-age kids, Tori and Terrell, who are fine athletes and top cowhands.
