Nice pictures, Soapweed, as usual.

Interesting, however, is the picture of the aeromotor
windmill, one hundred years old. The paint on the tail is like new. They figured out how to get paint to stick on galvanized metal.

That is a problem nowadays. Must be a lost art!!

I should have clarified this better. Aermotor is a name well-respected as a windmill maker, for well over a century. This windmill has been up a long time, but probably not nearly that long.

Another respected name in windmills was the Challenge brand, although we no longer use any of them. Their tail section bore the name Challenge, with a big red C and the rest was in black letters. The red C would fade away, and then it proclaimed "hallenge."
